Album, DVD and tour announced
2017 marks 25 years from the original release of the acclaimed album “The Crimson Idol” by W.A.S.P.
Recognised worldwide as the band’s landmark recording, W.A.S.P. will commemorate the release of that historic album by performing it in its entirety: “Re-Idolized: The 25th Anniversary of the Crimson Idol” World Tour.
Bringing the album up to date, Blackie Lawless and co will release a new re-recorded version alongside a 50 minute DVD film of the entire story. This will be the latest entry into the W.A.S.P catalogue since their new album ‘Golgotha’ in late 2016, which saw the band “retain a level of credibility that precious few of their metal peers ever even aspired to, let alone achieved”, according to Classic Rock.
The tour will feature the complete album, as well as 3 missing songs originally intended to be part of the recordings.
The show will be done in two parts, with the first being “The Crimson Idol”, and part two being a collection of greatest hits.
