The genre-defining Story Exploration Video Game, is now available for free for plus members. June 7, 1995. 1:15 AM. You arrive home after a year abroad. You expect your family to greet you, but the house is empty. Something’s not right. Where is everyone? And what’s happened here? Find out for yourself as you explore the house on Arbor Hill in the award-winning game that’s been called a remarkable achievement (IGN) and the greatest video game love story ever told (The New York Times). Sounds interesting I might look in to this game more myself but plus members go see what it’s like and let us know what you think.
Perspective. While not literally the name of the game, it plays a large part of puzzler echochrome. You must help a mannequin called the Walker to its goal of collecting all the echoes around a number of 3D mazes that look like they’ve stepped right out of a MC Escher art gallery. However, the Walker has a number of problems stopping this noble quest – each maze is full of impassable gaps, holes and other hazards that can prevent it from reaching the echoes. While the Walker is bound by the laws of physics, you are not, and the power is in your hands to change its fate. You can do this by switching the screen’s perspective and viewpoint to alter reality and make the Walker’s journey easier. For example, by spinning the maze a certain way, holes temporarily cease to exist simply because you can’t see them, making it safe to pass until you’re ready to show them on-screen again. Magical…This game sounds completely bonkers but very interesting and as I have my PS3 and PSP (which it came out on originally) I may look in to getting it.
Siren: Blood Curse (Episodes 1-12)
A TV crew from America arrive to research and film an exposé on the urban myth of Hanuda, the Vanished Village, where human sacrifices are said to have taken place. Hanuda is a dark, eerie world, frozen in the 1970s, at times surrounded by a red sea. An ancient curse has been set upon the town and you, as the visitors, must save the remaining inhabitants including the beautiful Miyako. In order to survive you must defend yourself from the vicious Shibito, or living dead, and other terrifying monsters. Interesting horror game idea and it gives you all 12 episodes so not even just teasing you so you buy more again something that sounds good to me I do like horror games.
God of War: Chains of Olympus
Spartan warrior Kratos makes his PSP (although this version is on PS Vita) debut in a totally original adventure. Set prior to his roaring rampage of revenge in the critically acclaimed God of War, Chains of Olympus chronicles the dark days of Kratos after being deceived into killing his wife and daughter and denouncing his service to Greek God of War, Ares. Seeking absolution for his sins, the Ghost of Sparta pledges himself as servant to the Gods of Olympus. Basically action hack and slash game there is a lot of these games now you know the score still fun though.
PS Vita sees the boisterous bunch of wacky characters crash-land on the strange Whoman world, an idyllic and relaxed planet filled with quirky folk. Unfortunately for the Deviants, they are not alone – the evil Botz are hot on their heels and ready to wreak havoc. This game is weird but looks cool using the back touch pad to make bumps in the road to move your spherical character it uses the PS Vitas functions well and helps show what this hand held can do.
